Sure, you can get those other tax services to do your taxes, but are you just another tax return, or do you get that personal service?
Our fee structure is simple: We charge an absolute 10% of your refund / owe amount. (There is a minimum charge of $150 for personal returns, $300 for business.) This way, it is to both of our advantage that we make sure your refund is maximized.
You will also have to pay for any filing fees (traditionally, each state to e-file is 25.00 and your federal return is free to e-file - check with your Bamboo Partners Accounting Representative to verify the fees for your state(s)) plus, we require you to purchase Intuit's Audit Defense for $60.00. The best part? You may be eligible to cover your fees with a simple deduction from your refund! No up-front costs! (Per Intuit, there is an additional cost for refund deduction of your filing fees that will apply.) Paying us can be simple too! If you qualify, we just arrange the needed funds (our fee) to be directly deposited into our account. (We do this by "splitting" the deposit from either the federal or the state refund, our call.) The rest is a direct deposit right into your bank for your use! Also, by E-Filing with direct deposit, the traditional wait time for your refund drops from 6-8 weeks to 2 weeks! What's that, you say? You can go online and do your taxes for free? Of course you can! However, the "free" version of the tax software offered will not allow you to claim a lot of deductions that would be critical in providing you with the maximum amount of money that you are entitled to. Oh, so you have a "friend" that does taxes? Great! How well versed are they with the current tax code? How many returns do they do each year? How much time do you think they will spend on your return? We average about 30-40 hours on a personal return and 40-50 hours on a business return going over your information (again and again!) to make sure we don't miss out on even one penny! Don't leave money on the table!

(You can sign up at any time during the year, however we don't start working on returns until after all your tax forms are due to you - this is traditionally January 31st; if you have investments our start date will be after March 1st.)

Acceptance of Bamboo Partners financial services and providing us with your tax information is considered acceptance of the above and the following. As we can only work with what you provide us, we are not responsible for any errors or omissions. All mathematical calculations are guaranteed thru Intuit. You will not hold Bamboo Partners or any of their associates liable for any additional penalties or fees, as you, the taxpayer are ultimately responsible for your own tax liability. All fees for work performed are non-refundable. If you either cannot or do not wish to utilize direct deposit our fee must be paid before filing. For our returning clients, our fees from any prior tax year must be paid in full before we will commence work on the current tax year. If you wish to review your return in detail before filing, you must let us know and we will be glad to go over it with you. All of our financial work is retained for a minimum of three years, longer for our regular clients. Copies of your prior returns (up to the limit of our data retention policy) will be provided in either electronic or paper format upon receipt of a verifiable written request provided there are no outstanding fees or charges due to Bamboo Partners, however our data files are proprietary to Bamboo Partners and will not be provided as part of any record request.
